Water treatment for limescale and corrosion protection
IVAR POLIFEMO® proportional dosers help protect boilers, pipework and water-fed equipment against limescale and corrosion. Using polyphosphate and silicate treatment, the range combines proportional dosing with integrated filtration, with 1/2", EXTRA 1/2" and 1" models for different applications.
What is POLIFEMO®?
POLIFEMO® is IVAR’s range of proportional polyphosphate and silicate dosers, designed to help protect water systems, boilers and water-fed equipment from the effects of limescale and corrosion.
Installed on the incoming cold-water supply, the unit doses polyphosphates and silicates in proportion to the water flowing through it. This treatment helps reduce the formation of limescale while creating a protective film within the pipework that helps guard against corrosion.
POLIFEMO® also combines water treatment with integrated filtration, providing a compact solution for protecting downstream equipment and helping maintain system performance.

In hard-water areas, calcium and magnesium salts can form limescale deposits within pipework, boilers and water-using equipment. Proportional polyphosphate dosing helps reduce this build-up, helping to protect system components and maintain efficient operation.
Helps protect against corrosion
The combination of polyphosphates and silicates helps create a protective film on internal pipe surfaces, providing additional protection against corrosion within the water system.
Integrated filtration
POLIFEMO® units incorporate filtration to help capture impurities carried within the incoming water supply before they reach downstream equipment, combining filtration and water treatment within one compact assembly.

A compact option for standard applications, using an 80g crystal refill.
POLIFEMO® EXTRA 1/2″
Features a larger dosing body with increased crystal capacity, using a 160g refill and helping extend the period between refills.

Designed for applications requiring a larger 1″ connection and higher water flow, with a 160g crystal refill.
Replacement crystals and routine servicing
POLIFEMO® dosers use replaceable polyphosphate and silicate crystals, allowing the treatment media to be replenished as part of routine system maintenance.
The POLIFEMO® Crystals Refill Pack is available separately for maintaining POLIFEMO® series dosers once the original treatment media has been used.
POLIFEMO® units are designed with servicing in mind, with an integrated bypass system helping to simplify routine maintenance and crystal replacement.
